Words leave my brain
Faster than this page can catch them
lost mumbles haunting my subconscious
an abundance of paper bare and pasty to the eye
my pen runs dry, I sigh—another defeat
must now wait til’ we meet again
sooner than later 😉

Yes.. And some of these already self- somewhat created poetry, once gone they’re gone like a great dream one never wants to forget but once up and our consciousness changes, it disappears.

Hi, your poem: ” Words leave my brain
Faster than this page can catch them
lost mumbles haunting my subconscious
an abundance of paper bare and pasty to the eye
my pen runs dry, I sigh—another defeat
must now wait til’ we meet again”. I already commented and then re-read it. It seems like you are describing my cognitive process in writing where some days words flow easy and other times I have a poem in my head but cannot get to a document quick enough and as with some great dreams, they…the words are lost forever. In addition, it explains how quick words leave my brain and stay hidden from my mind….I.E. ” Words leave my brain and …

Thank-you! Yes sometimes my thoughts can be so intense and it can be hard to capture them on paper 🙂 Thanks for your reply!

Me too! I can be outside for 15 minutes and some nights in my head I write 2 or 3 poems, other times, and equally good, is I get the writers head turned back on. Sometimes I think writing is my escape, other times, write to engage and express. I’ve had some days that after a great poem, fully edited, I feel like going out for some fine dining. You are inspiring.
